Efoil Racing League:

2025 Season Rankings

What is the 2025 Global Ranking?

How Rankings Are Calculated?

A Global Standard in Competitive Efoil Racing

The 2025 season had 13 events globally that pushed the industry to new heights. An astonishing number of 203 individual eFoil riders signed up to compete this year and put their skills to the test. These results show a substantial shift in the sport and the passionate community looking to take things to the next level.

Efoil Racing League sets the global standard for competitive eFoiling. With a singular focus on performance, regulation, and progression, we lead the industry by defining how the sport is raced, measured, and evolved.

Accelerating Innovation. Defining Champions.

Technological advances in the competitive landscape continue to push the limits of what is possible on an eFoil under pressure. New eFoils, wings, boards, batteries, and propulsion systems are constantly being developed and refined, giving riders every possible edge in the race to the finish line.

Race formats are evolving: designed to challenge athletes, raise performance standards, and narrow the gap at the top. Ultimately, however, it is the passion, skill, and determination of the rider that leads riders to climb the rankings.

Women’s 2025 Rankings

The Dawn of a New Era in Women’s Efoil Racing

The 2025 eFoil racing season has done more than just crown a champion; it has signaled a paradigm shift in competitive water sports. While the men’s division often grabs the headlines with raw speed, the 2025 Women’s Global Rankings tell a story of surgical precision, burgeoning international depth, and a singular athlete who has set a terrifyingly high bar for the rest of the world.

This year, the leaderboard wasn't just a tally of points—it was a map of a sport coming of age.

The Wicander Era: Unmatched and Unafraid

If 2025 belonged to anyone, it was Agnes Wicander (Sweden). Finishing the season with a monumental 8,970 points across seven events, Wicander did not just win; she dominated.

The stats tell part of the story, but the "how" is even more impressive. In the high-stakes season finale at the Fahid Island Watersports Festival in Abu Dhabi, Wicander was described as being in "a league of her own," maintaining a flawless run to be crowned the first-ever SFT E-Foil World Champion. Perhaps most telling of her talent was her performance at Foiling Week Lake Garda, where she finished her matchup just 1.5 seconds off the best time of top-ranked male rider Piet Varkevisser.

"My plan was just not to fall," Wicander admitted before her title-winning run in Abu Dhabi. "This sport is for everyone. This is just the start".

A Global Field in Pursuit

While Wicander sits comfortably at the top, the field behind her is growing in both skill and geographic diversity. 33 female riders were ranked this year, hailing from every corner of the globe—from the coastal waters of Latvia and Lebanon to the competitive hubs of France and the Netherlands.

  • Laura Jil Kurmann (Netherlands): Claimed the #2 spot with 4,060 points after a string of world-class performances, most notably at the Dubai eFoil League, where she solidified her reputation for high-speed consistency.

  • Natalja Tarasenko (Latvia): Secured #3 overall with 2,220 points from just two events. Her efficiency was clinical; she pushed Wicander to the limit in the Abu Dhabi final, proving she is the primary threat to the Swedish crown in 2026.

  • Rising Stars: France’s Nina Louesse (#6) and Belgium’s An Neirynck (#7) showed that European depth is the current dominant power of the league, while Turkey’s Selin Piskiner (#4) proved that the sport's reach is expanding rapidly into new countries.

Men’s 2025 Rankings

The Future of Flight: A Season of High-Stakes Evolution in Efoil Racing

The 2025 eFoil racing season has officially drawn to a close, leaving a trail of salt spray and shattered expectations in its wake. What began as a niche gathering of early adopters has transformed into a legitimate global circuit, with the 2025 Men’s Global Rankings revealing a sport that is rapidly maturing in both professional depth and technical sophistication.

This year, the leaderboard wasn't just about speed; it was a testament to strategic endurance and global consistency.

Chait’s Dominance and the Global Standings

At the pinnacle of the rankings stands Justin Chait (United States), who secured the #1 overall spot with a staggering 8,410 points. Chait’s path to the championship was paved through relentless participation, entering a season-high six events to build his lead. While others showed flashes of brilliance, Chait’s ability to consistently find the podium across diverse waters—from the Atlantic swells to the calm precision of European lakes—set him apart as the definitive force of 2025.

Hot on his heels was Spain’s Manel Arpa Zuriguel, who claimed the #3 spot with 5,860 points from just four events. Arpa Zuriguel’s efficiency was legendary this season; his performance at the Dubai International E Foil Race saw him make history for the LIFT team, navigating a technical hammer-head course to prove that fewer entries can still yield world-class results when paired with clinical execution.

Rounding out the top three in 2nd Place is the Netherlands' Piet Varkevisser, whose 5,970 points across seven events solidified a powerhouse podium that represents the sport’s strongest regions: the U.S., Spain, and the Netherlands. Piet along with Agnes, on the women’s division, can claim to be the most competitive riders and pushing the sport to by competing in 7 ranked events each.

A Truly International Field

The 2025 rankings underscore a massive expansion in the sport’s footprint:

  • 172 male riders earned points this season, representing more than 30 countries.

  • Riders like Clemens Kresser (Austria) and Jacob Ranney (United States) rounded out the top five, highlighting the narrow margins at the elite level.

  • The mid-tier of the rankings is teeming with talent from Belgium, France, and Italy, with veterans like Tom Court (United Kingdom) and Alexandre Tete (France) maintaining their status as formidable contenders despite entering fewer events.

"Success at the top required not only podium performances, but sustained participation, adaptability across formats, and disciplined execution under pressure."

Additional Facts to Consider

While the point totals tell the "who," the "how" is just as compelling. If you are looking to add further depth to your editorial, you might consider including these insights from the 2025 circuit:

  • The Dubai Showdown: While Chait won the overall points race, the season finale in Dubai was a turning point. A crash in the Semi-final heats disqualified Chait, opening the door for Manel Arpa Zuriguel to take the "World Champion" title for that specific marquee event.

  • Technical Rivalries: The season saw a fierce battle of equipment. The Lift LIFTX and the newly revealed Flite RACE board, unveiled specifically for high-speed competition, became the weapons of choice for the top 10.

  • The "Grom" and Youth Movement: While the men's rankings are the focus here, 2025 also saw the rise of younger divisions, ensuring a pipeline of talent that will likely challenge the likes of Chait and Zuriguel by 2026.
