The Cascais eFoil Festival will be the first dedicated eFoil event held in Cascais.
This first edition is designed to bring together the growing international eFoil community while introducing riders and brands to Cascais as a destination for foil sports.
With the protected waters of Cascais Bay, direct beach access and a coastline offering a wide variety of conditions, the area provides a unique playground for eFoiling.
Beyond competition, the goal is to create a fun and community-driven weekend where riders, brands and local enthusiasts can ride together, test equipment, create content and enjoy Cascais.
The 2026 edition will also establish the foundation for a larger annual event in the years ahead.
-
Technical Time Trial
Riders will compete individually against the clock on a technical buoy course in Cascais Bay.
The course will test:
• acceleration;
• top speed;
• turning ability;
• board and foil control;
• technical consistency.
Riders will follow the same course, with times recorded from the start gate to the finish.
The exact course layout and number of attempts will be published before the event.
Enduro Team Relay
Sunday will feature a long-distance Team Relay, designed around both rider performance and team strategy.
Teams will consist of two riders.
The current concept is a long-distance course between Cascais and Carcavelos, with the first rider completing the outbound leg before handing over to their teammate for the return leg.
A beach transition and battery change will form part of the race.
The same board will complete both legs, making equipment preparation, battery management, speed and teamwork key elements of the competition.
Final course distance and relay regulations will be confirmed before the event.
-
The Cascais eFoil Festival will be limited to a maximum of:
24 riders
The event is intended to bring together experienced racers, brand riders and passionate members of the international eFoil community.
Competition will be open and mixed, with final divisions and ranking structure to be confirmed.
PrizesTrophies and/or medals will be awarded to the top competitors.
Additional cash prizes, equipment and partner prizes are currently being developed together with event sponsors and participating brands.
Full prize package to be announced.
The Cascais eFoil Festival 2026 is organized by Cascais Sports Center in partnership with the eFoil Racing League, bringing together riders, brands and eFoil enthusiasts for three days of riding, racing and community activities.
The goal is to introduce the international eFoil community to our playground in Cascais — from the protected waters of Cascais Bay, ideal for racing and performance riding, to the wider coastline and the variety of foil conditions available around the area.
Expect competitive racing, open riding, brand involvement, great content and a relaxed community atmosphere built around spending time on the water.
Endurance Track
A 10k race is held between Carcavelos beach and Cascais sports center beach.
Speed Track
A Multi buoys speed track with big turns at high speed. Split with an intense 180 apex turn in the middle. The average time to ride this track is about 1.5-2 minutes.
