EFOIL RACING CONTINUES TO PUSH THE LIMITS
The 2026 eFoil racing season continues to gather momentum, with another international event bringing riders together to test speed, skill and equipment in one of the fastest-developing disciplines in watersports. At the Belgium GP we have seen world speed records broken both on and off the track… this is the next faze of efoil development from the industry brands… paving the way for what will come.
As eFoil racing evolves, every event is beginning to reveal another piece of what the future of the sport could look like. It is no longer simply about outright top speed. Starts, racing lines, acceleration, technical turns, equipment choice and the ability to stay composed while racing alongside other riders are becoming increasingly important.

Racing Gets Serious
From the opening sessions, the level on the water was clear.
Riders were pushing their equipment hard, carrying more speed through the turns and beginning to approach the course with the precision we would expect from an established racing discipline.
That progression is exactly what the Efoil Racing League was created to encourage.
Putting riders together in a competitive environment creates a development cycle that simply cannot happen through recreational riding alone. Riders improve, equipment gets faster, race formats develop and manufacturers receive real-world feedback about what their products need to perform at the highest level.
The margins are also getting smaller.
One mistake around a buoy, a poor start or a moment off the foil can completely change the outcome of a race. As the standard increases internationally, consistency is becoming every bit as important as outright speed.

Building a Global Racing Community
Perhaps more important than any individual result is the continued growth of the racing community itself.
EFRL events are bringing together riders, manufacturers, organisers and destinations around a common goal: developing eFoiling from an incredible recreational product into a recognised competitive sport.
The 2025 season already demonstrated the scale of that movement, with EFRL recording 203 individual competitors across 13 international events. The objective for 2026 is to continue building on that foundation with increasingly challenging formats and a genuinely international calendar.
Every new race adds another chapter.
Different water conditions, course designs and equipment combinations force riders to adapt, while the increasing depth of the field means there are fewer easy heats and fewer opportunities for mistakes.
